Granville House Ramsgate CT11
Grade II listed, former Granville Hotel situated on the East Cliff of Ramsgate overlooking the English Channel with views to France.
Built in 1869, The Granville was synonymous with luxury and boasted a range of Turkish baths, a ballroom, luxurious accommodations and a tunnel direct to the train station underneath the East Cliff. During the WW2, the hotel became a hospital for injured combatants. It was then lovingly turned into apartments during the 1960s and with it's tower, remains to this day a landmark and an iconic and renowned treasure of Ramsgate.
Many original features remain including the the Pugin fireplace (the only other one of which exists in the Houses of Parliament), the ballroom, the Granville Bars and the infamous marble lobby.
